There are many existing resources that are available to support you in your journey. From licensing and registration to English Language Proficiency to a Guide for Newcomers, we hope you will find what you need using the links below.

Health Match BC
While primarily focussed on recruitment, the Health Match site also includes valuable information on Licensing and Registration  and Organizations and Regulatory Bodies both national and provincial.

Practice in BC
This interactive guide outlines the steps to be eligible to practice as a general practitioner (GP) in BC.  You can also find links to other helpful resources like this Guide for Newcomers.

International Medical Graduate Office (IMG)
The UBC Faculty of Medicine offers services and evaluations to allow medical doctors who have trained in medical schools outside Canada and the United States to compete for, and obtain, medical residency positions in British Columbia that will lead to licensure for practice. These resources and positions are funded by the Government of the Province of British Columbia. International Medical Graduate (IMG) positions are offered to British Columbians who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents.

Practice Ready Assessment (PRA)- British Columbia
The PRA-BC program is an assessment program for internationally educated family physicians and provides qualified family physicians with an alternative pathway to licensure.
